SCHOOL’S SPORTS PROFILE 1974/5

-Brief Summary of Achievements-

1. Athletics:

The School won the chairman’s cup for Onitsha secondary school during the 1974 competitions and distinction herself in the east central State Sport Festival.

Won for the second time, 1975, the chairman’s Cup with the aggregate points of 126.

2. Football:

The School won the much coveted East Central State Academicals Cup with goal aggregate of 46 against 5.

Won the Obi Ofala Cup with goal aggregate of 13 against nothing.

Defeated the revered Mid- West Academicals Champions (Edo Colleges, Benin City) with goal aggregate of 3 to nil during the Golden Jubilee Celebration. The School broadly represented the E.C.S. intermediate teams in the 2^nd All Nigerian National Sports Festival in Lagos.

3. Hockey:

The School won all the Gold Medals by defeating Afikkpo High School during the 1974/5 E.S.C. Sports Festival in Enugu, after emerging as champion during the Zonal Competition in onitsha.

4. Basket:

The School emerged as champion during the Zonal Competition in Onitsha and represented the zone in the State’s Sports Festival in Enugu.

5. Table Tennis:

The School won 3 Silver and 2 Bronze Medal in the E.C.S. 1974/5 Sports Festival and led the State team to the national Sports Festival in lagos.

It represented the Onitsha zone during the State Table Tennis Championship competition at Alvan Ikokwu College of Education in Owerri where it won the Cup.
